Livingstone Estates has a long standing history on the Costa del Sol, even though not general public knowledge, most insiders in the area are aware of where Livingstone Estates originated from.

Back in 1998, the development company VTP Villas S.A. began a massive undertaking – to build a development not seen before on the Costa del Sol, and on top of that in an area not at all popular with anyone interested in buying a property.  That area was Urb. Guadalmansa in the Municipality of Estepona!  This was too far away from anything! 

The challenge was even more demanding because; the aim was to build a residential complex which would be considered a point of reference on the Costa del Sol.  The vision said so, the developer said so, the architect said so, the then Mayor of Estepona said so, the building specifications said so, everybody said so… except those who were set on Marbella, knowing full well that Estepona was not in the least bit interesting as an address for buying a property.

Something had to be done!  An address had to become a point of reference to at least arouse the interest and create awareness.  The original Golden Mile in Marbella was and still is a hot spot for property seekers.  It was THE radius within which most wanted to buy.  In order to create momentum – the team around the developer came up with ‘The New Golden Mile’. 

It was this team that set the radius of the stretch of The New Golden Mile – starting from Costalita and ending at the Hotel Kempinski, just on the outskirts of East side of Estepona. Initially not even this move was taken seriously, but commitment, and not giving up on the vision, The New Golden Mile, 10 years later is where everyone wants to be.  Even developments, Hotels, Bars, Restaurants etc. which do not fall within the actual radius of The New Golden Mile, now promote themselves as being within it.  What was initially a marketing initiative, has now established itself as THE point of reference on the outskirts of Marbella.

The first complex in Urb. Guadalmansa was CABO BERMEJO, right next to the super luxury hotel Las Dunas.  The next development, TORRE BERMEJA, surpassed the previous one.  The specifications read like a book of luxury living and reality has proven the same!  Parallel to the construction of Torre Bermeja, TikiTano Beach Restaurant was built, opened and operated. The 30.000 m2 archeological area surrounding the 800-year old Al Menara tower, was cleaned up, a Roman Villa was excavated under the supervision of an archeological team, and a landscaped garden area was created. 

As the activities of the developer and promoter grew, the initial company, VTP Villas S.A. became part of GRUPO VTP ESPAÑA, now consolidated as the most serious, committed, no nonsense and professional development company on the Costa del Sol. 

It is Grupo VTP España that is behind Livingstone Estates.  The same seriousness, commitment, no nonsense and professionalism remain intact.   The Chairman of Grupo VTP España is also the Chairman of Livingstone Estates.  It was Mr. Vagn Trend Poulsen who had the vision back in 1998, and it is under his leadership that Livingstone Estates came to be and since then maintains its own status and reputation as THE reference for credibility on the Costa del Sol.
