Saborea Estepona Tapas Route: Enjoy a True Local Food Experience This Spring

If you are planning a spring holiday on the Costa del Sol, the Saborea Estepona tapas route is a wonderful opportunity to experience the town like a local. This popular gastronomic event, organised by Estepona Town Hall as part of the cultural programme Estepona vive sus calles 2026, celebrates the Andalusian tradition of enjoying tapas in a relaxed and sociable atmosphere.

Taking place from 17 to 19 April, the event invites holidaymakers, residents and visitors to discover the wide variety of restaurants and traditional bars across Estepona. With pleasant spring temperatures and longer days, it is the perfect time to explore the town’s charming streets, enjoy outdoor dining and immerse yourself in the Mediterranean lifestyle.

How the Saborea Estepona Tapas Route Works

During the Saborea Estepona tapas route, participating venues throughout the municipality will create a special tapa for the occasion. Visitors can enjoy each tapa together with a drink at attractive fixed prices. The offer includes a tapa with a small beer, soft drink or water for €3.50, or a tapa paired with a glass of wine for €4.50.

The event schedule is designed to fit perfectly into a relaxed holiday itinerary. Tapas will be served on Friday evening from 20:00 to 23:00, on Saturday from 13:00 to 16:00 and again from 20:00 to 23:00, and on Sunday from 13:00 to 16:00. This makes it easy to combine sightseeing, beach time and culinary discovery throughout the weekend.

You can find more official information about the event on the Estepona Town Hall website.

Discover Local Flavours and Vote for Your Favourite Tapas

A highlight of the route is the friendly competition for La Mejor Tapa 2026. All participating establishments automatically enter the contest, presenting creative dishes inspired by local ingredients and Mediterranean cuisine. Visitors are encouraged to take part by voting for their favourite tapas, helping to recognise the town’s culinary talent.

By collecting stamps from at least three different venues on an official tasting passport, guests can also enter prize draws while enjoying a varied gastronomic experience. Completed passports can be submitted at designated collection points such as the Tourist Office in Plaza de las Flores or the municipal office in Cancelada.

Best Areas to Enjoy the Tapas Route

From the centre, visitors can continue towards the seafront promenade and La Rada Beach. A leisurely walk along the coast offers beautiful Mediterranean views and a refreshing break between tastings.
